Meet the Team

An automotive shop is only as good as the people who work there.  Bob’s Driveline is a dedicated team of specialists in Transmission, Differential, Transfer case, and Powertrain service and repair.  We specialize in these systems, not because they are easy but because they are hard.  We’ve built our whole company culture on doing the complex stuff at economical prices, doing it right, and firmly standing behind our work.

Every member of our team is committed to going the extra mile to keep your costs down, without cutting corners, thereby maintaining the shop’s stellar reputation for honesty, integrity, and quality workmanship.

Joe Reyven, AKA The Hammer (he’ll hammer down your costs) has six years’ experience as an inside and outside sales rep for transmission parts suppliers, and over eighteen years’ experience in automotive shop management.  He has been the Shop Manager of Bob’s Driveline since 2000.  His specialty is finding ways to keep our prices low without cutting corners.  There isn’t a more knowledgeable Service Manager in the business, especially in the challenging areas of transmissions and other driveline systems.

Danger Dave Vanderwel (extreme sports enthusiast and general adventure seeker), began his career at BC Automatic Transmissions in 1981. He graduated from BCIT with a diploma in Automotive Technology specializing in transmissions, and achieved his Journeyman certification in 1984. He continued working at BC Automatic Transmissions for many years, specializing in transmission rebuilding.  Over time Dave worked his way up to an ownership position in the company, and their premier expert in transmission technology. He joined Bob’s Driveline in 2017.

Wes Mayer, AKA Sniper (he’s a hunter), started out repairing and servicing machinery on his uncle’s farm. He then began an apprenticeship program at Bob’s Driveline in 2008. By 2016 he had completed all the necessary course work at Kwantlen College and gained sufficient practical working experience to be certified as a journeyman auto repair technician.  He has rebuilt hundreds of differentials and transfer cases and is an expert at testing, fitting, and aligning gear sets and positive traction systems.  He also has great fabrication skills in welding and machining components for repairs or custom vehicle builds.

Dennis Foster, AKA Mr. Pips (he’s an electronic commodities trading enthusiast), has over 20 years’ experience as an automotive repair technician. He has done general repair and heavy truck work as well as being an RV service technician.  Dennis’s main field of expertise is transmission, differential, and transfer case removal and re-installation.

Bob Schroeder, AKA The Godfather, started his automotive apprenticeship in 1970 and fully qualified in 1974. He worked at a truck repair shop, Toyota dealership, and a GM dealership before starting his own business in 1992.  Over the decades Bob has become renowned in the driveline industry as one of the greats, both in skill and knowledge as well as honesty, integrity, and standing behind his work.  His personal interests are building street rods, drag racing, camping, water skiing, and spending time with his family at the lake.  Bob has now retired from day to day work but continues to be an ally of the company and frequently stops by the shop to check in with the team.
